Rene Russo, born in Burbank, California on the 2nd of September 1970. She was the daughter of Shirley Balocca who was a factory worker/barmaid and Nino Russo. Rene's mechanic father left after Rene had just turned 2. The mother of Rene was the sole caretaker for Rene. Her father was of Italian descent and her mother was of Italian as well as German-English-Irish descent. Rene's scoliosis was so severe that she had to wear a torso brace for the entire time during her Junior High School years. When she was a child, she had a large frame which led to her being called Jolly Green Giant by her peers. Her brace was removed when she entered Burroughs High School with Ron Howard, but even afterwards, her persona was a bit solitary. Rene quit school after tenth-grade as she found it difficult to handle her academics or engaging with her peers. Since money was tight she began to take a variety of part-time jobs throughout the following 18 months many for the advantages of being free. At a cinema, she got free tickets to movies. At a restaurant she got free food. There were times when she had more than one job at a time. The last job she worked for solely to earn money was working in a full-time eyeglass factory inspecting contacts lenses.
