Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is a British and American sitar player. She also sings. She's the smallest woman and was the first person to receive a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was one of the Indian young sitar artist. She is a scholar and daughter of the famous Ravi Shankar. She was a child who bounded around from London to New Delhi. Her debut performance was at New Delhi when she was just 13 years old. In 1999, she completed her high schooling at Encinitas CA. Anouskha continues to have a bright music and acting career, despite being young. She has performed with her father on stage for many years. In 1998, she debuted Anourag as her debut album as a solo artist. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. The stage work she has done is broad as she's performed in most of the biggest venues in the world. Anoushka Shankar's career is not restricted to just music. Bapi: The love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in movies in 2003. She was in the movie Dance Like a Man where she is a young Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shakar's professional career will continue to grow and grow. We can look forward to seeing many new things from her. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of traveling between London and Delhi in her early years. Later, she moved to California for high school. She began learning music when she was nine years old and performed on the sitar in celebration of the 75th anniversary her father's birth in Delhi four years later. Accompanying her father as they toured around the globe, Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of experience performing in Carnegie Hall while still in her teens. She performed at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also making recordings together with George Harrison. She was the youngest woman to win the House of Commons Shield, presented by British Parliament in recognition of her talent and musicianship within performing in the Asian Arts.
